Cost & Budget Considerations
Glass gobos, while more expensive, offer unmatched detail and color reproduction, making them worth the investment for corporate events, theatrical productions, or anywhere your branding must shine.
Design Possibilities & Artwork Requirements
- Steel gobos work best with bold logos, clean text, and simple patterns. Because of the need for “bridges” in the design, fine details may not transfer perfectly.
- Glass gobos allow for high-resolution artwork, gradients, and photographic detail. If your logo includes thin lines, intricate shading, or multiple colors, glass is the clear choice.
Durability & Lifespan
- Steel gobos are rugged and heat-resistant, making them ideal for mobile DJs and frequent setups.
- Glass gobos are also durable, but they require more careful handling to prevent scratches or damage. With proper care, a glass gobo can last for years of use.
Production & Shipping Times
- Steel gobos typically have a faster turnaround, making them ideal for rush orders.
- Glass gobos require longer production time, especially for multi-color designs. If you need a glass gobo, be sure to plan ahead.

Choosing the Right Gobo
When deciding between steel and glass gobos, consider your design needs, budget, and timeline. Steel gobos are durable, affordable, and fast to produce — ideal for DJs, small events, and simple text or logo projections.
Glass gobos, on the other hand, provide unmatched detail, color, and precision, making them the preferred choice for brand showcases, weddings with intricate monograms, and professional productions.
